The Kenai River is world famous for its trophy King salmon fishing.  Current home of the IGFA World Record, a 97 pound 4 ounce monster caught in 1985.  For over twenty years this river has produced uncountable trophies in the 40 to 80 pound range and made dreams come true for the anglers of all ages and skill levels.  The power of one of these fish on the end of your line is indescribable.

There are two runs of King salmon that enter the Kenai River, the early run is from mid May to the end of June.  The second run and the largest is from the first week in July to the end of July.   The peak of the second run is usually between the second and last week of  July.   King season usually closes the last day of July.

Halibut and/or King Salmon Fishing on Cook Inlet

Cook Inlet waters is considered some of the best Halibut "barn door" fishing in the world.   Pacific Halibut, a member of the flounder family, averages in size from 20-40 pounds, but Daryl has sport caught many halibut that weigh in the 100-250 pound range.  We'd like to break the state record of 466 pounds.  Bag limit is two per day. Halibut is a mild, great tasting fish and is suitable for a variety of delicious recipes. Halibut fishing at Deep Creek is a  45 minute drive from Soldotna.
