Area Activities

Soldotna is located halfway between Seward and Homer making it an excellent home base to take in most of the Kenai Peninsula activities without changing lodging facilities each night.

Halibut are plentiful and your host is an excellent experienced licensed guide on the Cook Inlet or he would be delighted to help you catch that trophy King Salmon on the Kenai River.

Clamming is unbelievable during negative tides and the limit is forty-five per license per day.  This is a fun activity for the whole family.

Fishing for reds from the bank is popular in July.  Bring your own favorite fishing pole and fill your creel with red salmon.  Limit is three to six per day.

Rafting trips and drift boat guided fishing trips for beautiful rainbow trout and red salmon are available at nearby Coopers Landing.

Sightseeing/Flight Seeing Trips/Horseback Riding.  We have beautiful views of snow capped Mt. Iliamna and Mt. Redoubt, grazing moose, soaring eagles, wildflowers, and scenic views.

Kenai Peninsula offers many fun and free attractions which includes the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters and Visitors Center which has free films, a wildlife viewing trail and wildlife display.  Captain Cook State Recreation Area has spectacular views of Cook Inlet, nearby mountains and if the weather conditions are right, you can see Denali.  There is the Old Fort Kenai, the old Russian Orthodox Church, Beluga whale watching and beach combing.  The Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center offers hourly Alaskan movies and has exhibits showing Kenai's native culture, Russian influence, story of commercial fishing industry and Alaskan wildlife displays.

Many maintained hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult that lead to lakes, glaciers and hidden fishing spots are waiting for you on the Kenai Peninsula.

Dining at a variety of restaurants are available to suit your taste buds.  Your hosts will be happy to prepare sack lunches or seafood dinners upon request.

Entertainment includes golfing, bowling, movie theatres, shopping for art and handmade crafts
